The staff at horses and hounds are very knowledgeable about all pet products and supplies. What impresses me the most is the staff are polite, courtesy, kind and provide excellent customer service. It’s a breath of fresh air to be treated with respect.
If you have a pet this is your place. Friendly knowledgeable staff. one of the best show rooms in Connecticut. Check this place out ! You won’t be disappointed !
They've always been super helpful in regards to my dogs food selection. Over the months she developed worsening yeast issues leaving any dry kibble out of the question and they recommended Steve's real food with this in mind. Even though I still make homemade, I supplement one meal with Steve's real food. Once she got past the texture she really loves it and didn't redevelop any yeast issues! They're just super friendly and very knowledgeable. I'm so glad to have such a great family owned local pet store.
Great selection of everything! Staff is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond in helping. Love the self dog wash too!
Really offended from today’s shopping trip when the middle aged woman behind the counter yelled across the store “did you see any Mexicans” (no response) followed by “but did you tell them you were coming” (the other person replied they had). “Oh, that’s why!” Maybe it was taken the wrong way, but it’s hard to take that any other way.

This company never paid us properly for work done at Horses and Hounds. We were issued a bad check that Susan put a stop payment on. I have an attorney handling this matter and considering contacting the District Attorneys office. Be careful who you do business with. They have been writing fake reviews about my company. Susan is a complainer and a control freak. I have them In Court and I’m hoping to get back what they owe me. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!
