I visited Doctor Horowitz with my wife for a skin and hair problem. The first appointment was a social gathering, with promises of treatment, a blood test and medicine just like the one my wife has been prescribing for her doctor in Colombia. Nothing new and especially nothing like what we expected from a doctor with more than 50 years of experience. He's had a lot of years of experience, so he usually has students that he is mentoring with him, which is only a problem if you don't want 3 extra people in your room. I was recommended to him by family members, and left feeling like he had answered all of my questions and was knowledgable.
Dr. Horowitz is a bad joke. Keeps you coming back so he can pay for the beautiful antiques and eye catching relecs in the office. Staff is very unprofessional. His comic routine is not worth the $50 pop every six weeks to get the same maintenance prescription that any dermatologist would write you a full year prescription for and have you call them back if there was any problem. Had a mole removed and Dr. Horowitz failed to have it biopsied. The patient had a familial history of skin cancer which was apparently ignored since there was no biopsy. The patient was 29 at the time and actually had melanoma, he died at 30.
Does this provider treat their staff well? Kind of, but not very well Was this provider argumentative or easily angered? Somewhat, they didn't want to listen to almost anything I said Were the waiting room chairs comfortable at this dermatologist's office? Dr Horowitz is awesome but his staff is terrible. I needed to come in and get a $10 shot. Dr horrowitz said "come in anytime and get the shot. Takes 2 secs with no office visit". I tried explaining this to the old crotchety woman behind the desk and kept demanding I have to pay for an office visit. After 10mins of arguing I stormed out.
