If I could give them zero stars, I would. My therapist (forgive me, I cannot remember her name.) vented to me about her kids, told me to stop eating doughnuts (I never mentioned doughnuts or my weight..?) and overall gave no advice and did not listen well. My family member saw Dr. Steven Heitkamp and he cut her appointment short by 15 minutes REPEATEDLY, he was on his phone while she was crying to him. Therapy dog is cute but poorly trained and will interrupt you by barking and whining while you're trying to open up. Dr. Steve Heirkamp browsed Facebook on his phone during therapy sessions. Most egregiously, Dr. Steve Heitkamp violated HIPAA by disclosing confidential information from our sessions to a potential employer. This caused them to not only reject my job application but also retaliate against my friend who worked there. From other reviews, it is clear that this overstepping is a pattern of behavior for him. This review is specific to Dr. Steven Heitkamp in O'fallon, IL. I petitioned the court for co-parent counseling for myself and my ex-wife. I eventually had him removed due to unethical behavior. He refused to co-parent counsel and began offering legal advice. Fortunately he did this through an email. Of course the judge ruled his advice (via the Joint Parenting Agreement) was terribly wrong. I experienced uncontrollable anger and dishonesty from him. My advice - demand to record all sessions.
