The office practices of Horizon Family are less than stellar. One must often leave a message to request an appointment on a machine. Call back for that can take up to a day. Forget same day appointments for sudden minor illnesses. Doctors have good attitudes but staff or nurses DO NOT call back results of blood work to patients within an acceptable time period.. I wouldn't even give one star if zero was an option!! The practice i had been going to closed down due to budget cuts so I decided to try out Horizon since it is my daughters practice. With the fda crack downs I went in prepared with my pharmacy print outs showing the medications my previous dr had me on. After a weight/height/&bp measure dr walked in & straight outsaid he REFUSED to prescribe me 5 of the 6 medications I was on. 1 I have been on for 3 years, 2 for 1.5yrs , and 2 for six months. 3 of these medications express... read more
I have nothing but glowing things to say about Dr, Dawkins. I have had issues with the staff now and again but never the nurses. Simply put some of the office workers are brighter then others. The care and concern, I and my family have recieved over the years from Dr. Dawkins - even in his last practice - have made any minor bumps a non-issue.
Took my 3 kids and was 15 minutes late, they turned me away. I live 20 minutes away and found it very rude. It was not intentional and has never been a policy that I was aware of. When I first came to this practice, I asked specifically about their late policy, and at the time there was no policy and was told that they would not send me away. I receive excellent medical care from this office. I see Dr. Harris who is a very caring and thorough physician. I also see the nurse practitioner Kathleen who likewise is most capable in providing health care. I would heartily recommend this group to anyone looking for a good family physician.
These People cancelled my life sustaining presciption which had refills. They do this so you have to make an unessessary appointment to fill thier over inflated pocket books
