I have been going to Dr Hoppe and Dr Tran for over 6 years and I can honestly say I love them both. They fit patients in for emergency visits and take the time to speak with me instead of rushing me out of the office I wouldnt go to any other drs office. The staff also seems very polite and willing to help the patients.

Terrible staff who turn away sick patient because patient was late. Being new to NJ, patient got lost and reached 15 mins late for appointment. Several patients below have commented upon 30 min wait times but is there a refund or apology for the patient? Of course not. But if patient is little late, then in spite of sickness the staff turns them away. Taking business elsewhere.

Business response:

This particular patient was actually close to a 1/2 hour late but I was still willing to see her. Patient did not have her copay so we instructed her to go across street to ATM. This should have taken 5 minutes. Patient called back another 1/2 hour later telling us not to close the office (we were close to closing time) and that she was on her way back. I really do try to be accommodating but this was an extreme situation so we directed her to go to a walk-in/urgent care center at this point. Husband called back later demand... read more

Excellent doctor. Runs a bit late sometimes, but I don't think I ever waited longer than half hour - that's good for dr. office. I'be been going to him for close to 5 years and will continue to do so until we move.

Business response:

Thank you for your kind words. I promise all of my patients that if I'm running late it is because I am taking the time needed for my patients, that same time that I will give you when it is your turn to be seen.

Business response:

A 1 star review with no explanation is a bit frustrating.

Very pleased with the doctor. This was my first visit to his South Plainfield office after searching for a Primary Care Physician for a while. Very accommodating office hours and does most tests/bloodwork sampling in house. Very convenient for a busy person with a full schedule. Liked the detail he put into establishing my baseline health condition during my visit. I will be keeping him as my PCP.

Business response:

I appreciate your review and hope/assume that you are still a current patient almost 3 years later.

I have been a patient of his for at least 7 years, when they had a nurse named Peggy working there things ran smooth, now the office staff is rude, you are on hold forever and they can never fit you in within a reasonable time. I had reccomended him in the past but would never do that again. I am finding a new doctor.

Business response:

The above mentioned employee was fired for extreme behavior, and had to be fired immediately. I had great faith in her which she broke and given that she was responsible for so much at the office, we were in some turmoil for a few months as we tried to get back on our feet. Nerves were strained and unfortunately it may have come out with some of the employees interactions with other patients. Not an excuse but an explanation and I apologize. I have hence learned to not put too much responsibility and 'power' into one employe... read more

I am unhappy with my recent visit. Dr adviced me for couple of tests and the resutls came. One of the test result was way high for my age ( three times more than the normal range). So, I was told by the staff that Dr wanted to see me. I had my second visit. Dr Hoppe explained the test result and asked me to take a second test after 15 days ( a nurse appointment). Also, Dr did say that he dose not expect this second test result will not be very different for the first one. So, Once the results have come, he would tell me a so... read more

Business response:

The staff member should have forwarded your question to me, as the policy has been for some time now. I can not explain or excuse why you were told to come back for a third visit just to get an answer to a very basic question. This should not be happening anymore I am VERY clear about my office policies to my employees.

Dr. Happe has been a family doctor for me and my husband for 2 years now. We are very satisfied with his diagnostics and approach to tackling medical issues. The only draw back is the wait time that seem to be on average 30 minutes and can be longer.

Business response:

I appreciate your comments. Wait times seem to be a common concern for most doctors offices. While I can't speak for other offices, I can tell you that medicine is an extremely unpredictable profession. We have 15 minutes to see a patient but this is not always enough time if the patient has multiple or complicated concerns. I will always give the patient the time they need rather then rush them through the visit and this is the unfortunate consequence. There is no perfect answer and I apologize.
