First off, how can a home appraisal go down when the market is high right now? Second, how is it that the letter head of the appraiser was Hoosier Hills Credit Union? We have never had issues until we tried to refinance our home. We both have almost perfect credit scores. I have a huge problem when they know what we needed the home loan for and make it to where we can’t get financed at a lowest rate, but just barely have enough to get a higher interest loan. Robin, thank you for your feedback. By regulation, our appraisers are selected by a third party from a list of approved appraisers. The selection is double blind, meaning, the appraiser does not know what financial institution is making the request and we do not know what appraiser is chosen. Also, by regulation, we send members a copy of the appraisal, which may be where you saw our letterhead. Recommendedmy husband and I stopped at the Mitchell branch and talked with April Wilcoxson for a loan to purchase a pickup truck. within no time we were on our way to Bloomington to test drive the truck my husband wanted. I call April and told her we were buying the truck gave her the Vin # and by the time we got back to Mitchell she had our paper work ready and a few signatures later the loan was complete. she even transferred money between accounts so that we didnt have too.
