sooo much bang for the buck – chicken for 1$ , beef for 1.50! scorpion bowls.. what a crazy place. i had such a good time there .. the crowd is the most diverse i have ever seen. downstairs you got a huge melting pot of people.. college, afterwork, etc listening to rock and pop music,. and upstairs you got the urban crowd dancing to hip hop.. ! what a mix .. definetly the place to go!
User review by hunter55 – I've been to the Hong Kong twice and I can't complain. The food is cheap, the mixed drinks are about a dollar or two less than other bars in the area and the beer is a good value too. Another great thing about this place is that every time you spend $5 you get a coupon. The coupons can be redeemed for prizes like hats, t-shirts, mugs etc; It's like getting free stuff for getting buzzed.
Crowded, but aren't all bars, really? – Sure its crowded, and yes it is tough to move sometimes, but honestly, crowded bars come with the territory in Boston on a Friday or Saturday night. Show me bar that is not crowded during the weekend, and I will show you a place that noone cares about, and probably will not be in business for long. The cover ($3 downstairs, higher than that upstairs), is worth it, and has been known to be waived when the lines outside get too long. The best suggestion to avoid waiting in long lines is ... read more
Popular nightlife destination provides Quincy Market with a lively, frenetic scene and sociable scorpion bowls. – In Short For sheer people-watching potential, few Boston nightspots are better. Downstairs, Abercrombie-clad students mingle with a distinctly local crowd. Upstairs, it's an urban dance scene, with a multiethnic crowd strutting its stuff, digging the hip-hop, and macking on the bridesmaids who got lost on their way to the bachelorette party. Groups of friends frequently congregate over inexpensive Scorpion Bowls;... read more
teriyaki! – You either love it or hate it. Those who claim to hate it still show up every week. Good music, good drinks, familiar faces, and who can resist the chicken teriyaki. I'm sold although last week they were charging $15 at the door which is too much for that spot! $10 I'll be there, $15 not worth it.
The Hong Kong is my favorite place, (upstairs of course) Downstairs is more of a college type atmosphere, no dance floor and filled with the J. Crew and Abercrombie types. Good if you enjoy listening to rock and bar anthems like "pour some sugar on me". Upstairs is where it happens, lots of dancing great music, great people and good dancers. Get a scorpian bowl followed by a teryaki stick and your night is complete. Great crowd upstairs with lots of diversity and great beats.
Hot Spot – Fun atmosphere!! The music hot but usually the men are cuties but it is a small spot and quickly gets crowded on Saturdays. Not a bad value to be able to wear jeans and a T-shirt and only pay $8. If you like to have fun that's the place to go.
lame as divey – This place is cool if you've never been to a boston bar before, or if you just turned 21. I've been going to bars and clubs across the country for a while and have never gotten such rude service before. Tough guy bouncers and rude barkeep treat you like an underage college punk.
scorpion bowls @ the Hong Kong – the Hong Kong is the best place to cap off a night of drinking in Faneuil Hall. Make sure to hit some other bars before the Hong Kong...b/c once you get here you will be too drunk to go anywhere else. Make sure you have a few Scorpion Bowl races and you will be good to go.
