Lunch joint by day, lounge by night; this versatile shop hits the spot. – In Short An array of colorfully named sandwiches constructed from a variety of ingredients has been the calling card of this Capitol Hill establishment since its inception in 1999. The addition of a full bar keeps crowds coming well past the lunch rush. Low lighting, comfortable booths and kitschy decor, featuring a hodgepodge of Mexican, tiki and local effects, make the conversion from day to night seamless.
HoneyHole Keepin' It Real – Damn, that's a good sandwich! I like to spread my cash around to independent businesses, and this place is solid. Comfortable atmosphere, good for drinking, and an always interesting clientele. Really good music. Saddle up to the bar and get to know someone. Great sandwiches. I hit the 'Hole before and after shows. Thanks guys!
A little disappointed – Started going here when they opened up the bar. It's convenient as I live close by. I had eyed their dinner menu a few times and was really interested in their smoked meat sandwiches. I finally tried their smoked pork sandwich which was supposed to be in a pineapple bbq sauce. Well the sandwich I got was just shredded meat on a buttered hoagie. The meat was smoked nicely, but it was dry and there was nothing else on it. I couldn't even taste the BBQ sauce. I was a little disappointed. I was anticipati... read more
Best of the Hill – The word "Honeyhole Run" sends my co-workers scrambling for their wallets. Huge ass sandwiches at a damn fine price. The fact that they now serve liquor has made my life complete. Service is friendly- they are cool about substitutions. Bartenders are laid back and offer generous pours. Often have $2.50 drink specials! Try the artichoke dip- so good I could eat it like soup! Plus they serve until 11pm every night...
same name, different place? – When I saw that Honeyhole was an editorial nominee, I thought perhaps there were two restaurants with the same name. But unfortunately that is not the case. Sandwiches are uninspired and prepared poorly. I look forward to finding more good sandwich places in Seattle (such as Three Sisters Bakery and Salumi), but this is not one of them
Not all THAT great! – Not sure what all the rave is about... I've gotten sandwiches there and have left disappointed. Once I received a totally soggy ruben sandwich, the other time I ordered a meatball sandwich and the meatballs were overcooked and the bread on the burnt side. Maybe I just haven't ordered the best they have to offer. Service is fair, unenthusiastic and slow. I have heard during weekday lunch rush you can't get out of there under 25 min. A little on the expensive side. Decor is pretty good. You can find compa... read more
Eclectic – This place has great sandwiches... Good variety and they seem to use top quality ingredients. Not like subway or large corporate sub shops. The decor is very interesting with lots of pictures, sculptures, etc. It has sort of a gothic bayou theme with a full bar that looks like a run down bayou shack of some sorts. The people that work there are friendly and seem to really like making good sandwiches. They play a variety of great music.. stuff you won't hear on the radio. The place is very comfortable. It gets very... read more
