Specialties Overlooking Rathbun Lake, this polished hotel and golf resort is 7.9 miles from Honey Creek State Park and 8.3 miles from downtown Moravia. History Established in 2008. After 700 people crowded into a local restaurant for the first public meeting on the Resort in 2000, a unique private/public partnership developed in which local organizers provided in-kind contributions and real dollars as funding support for the project. The worst staff communication ever! I haven’t even been there yet and their night auditors have over charged my card on file 2 nights in a row ignoring the notes on my reservation. When I called the first time the manager assured me they were going to put up a note and talk to the night auditor about our group block rate and this obviously did not happen. Very disappointed.
Have a wedding coming up next year and had been trying to contact the manager that toured us for about 3 months now through phone and email. No reply from her. Finally called the main resort line today and was let known that manager Emma no longer works for honey creek and her work was not transferred to the new one/ we were not informed of the change. Front desk was amazing for providing contact information for the new manager and they were very pleasant on the phone. Great service from the fellow on the phone. Fingers cros... read more
Love coming here with my kiddos, usually very clean and quiet, the bathrooms definitely need deeper cleaned and even remodeled if possible, and the patios need power washed due to all of the barn swallow droppings
This has to be the most overpriced lodging in the USA. Rooms are small. A two night minimum is required which makes going there that much more expensive. And there is a resort fee. My suggestion is get a cabin. A much better value and accommodations.
We've enjoyed staying in the lodge on previous visits. This time we decided to celebrate Father's Day weekend in the camper. The cement pad campsites are clean, level, spacious and very we'll maintained. Full 30/50 amp hook up / water / sewage at every site is an added bonus. The restaurant has great menu selections. Good selection of adult beverages. (Hopefully, they'll have Guinness next time... LOL) We're definitely coming back! Thanks HCR for this hidden gem.
