Two Stars — Very Disappointing Stay I’ve stayed in the area many times and decided to try this hotel instead of my usual spot. Even though the building looks newer and more modern, the room itself was a major letdown. I paid extra for a river-view room — which was the only positive — but the entire stay was overshadowed by a massive fruit-fly infestation. This was the third Homewood Suites of our trip from NC to NY and back, and I'd place it second of the three. We received the river view upgrade but the view of the river was limited; however, the view towards Wilmington at night was lovely. The quick access to the river walk is really great. We didn't arrive early enough to spend as much time on it as I would have liked, but we did walk down and order dinner from Riverfront Asian Cuisine to bring back to the room. 2/5Disappointing Parking is rediculous! We had to park very far away and could not even get on the hotel parking lot because it was full every night. it was right on the Riverwalk and they had walks and bike ride events daily so that was nice to watch while sitting outside eating their amazing breakfast. No cleanliness issues. Some good restaurants close by as well.
