Our stay at Homewood Suites in Oxnard, California was unfortunately disappointing overall, though there were some positives. The room was very spacious, which was helpful while traveling with young children, and we appreciated having a separate living room, a full kitchen, and a dining table, which made things easier with two toddlers and a newborn. A friend of mine invited me to have dinner with him at the hotel one night. It was excellent. It was very impressed.
The toilet was broken and the remote control for the TV didn't work. When we notified the front desk, they sent maintenance. He was courteous and efficient, (he had ro go and get several repair parts), but the process took over an hour and interrupted our getting ready process and dampened our spirits for our evening out. We notified the front desk the next day and requested additional points or discounts due to the inconvenience, but the front desk did not seem to be concerned, at all.
