Very nice NEW hotel in Goldsboro. Maybe open for a year….not really sure on dates. Conveniently located right next to the College, the Convention Center, and 3 minutes from the hospital. Free breakfast in the mornings, and it’s very good. I’ve never seen anyone serve carnitas to make breakfast tacos with, at a hotel! Bonus points for that! There’s a nice bar near the lobby. Room layout is fantastic the beds are super comfortable but housekeeping not so great. The shower drain was so clogged it flooded the pan and was running onto the bathroom floor. I unclogged the drain myself but was in the shower so I tossed the hair on the floor. I sent a text to the manager-she thank me for letting her know. Went to shower the next morning and discovered that mass of hair was still there. The room had a nice couch. I was putting on my shoes and noticed clumps of dog hair. 1st room was clean but the toilet was clogged (not by us!). Went to the front desk given the choice of being handed a plunger to deal with it ourselves or take another room. 2nd room hadn’t been made up, sheets undone, etc. 3rd room floor was filthy, needed to be vacuumed and mopped. Front desk gave us a broom and pail. So after an 8 hour drive I’m sweeping the floor of my $200 room. Let me be clear. Front desk staff is actually great.
