During said stay, my relative underwent a procedure that requires attentive medical after-care. If not paid attention to and handled properly, the end result leads to massive infection quickly followed by death. Not only do I work there but I've had two family members both stay at this facility. What it lacks in not being shiny and new, it makes up for with its love and care.
I have worked at homestead 2 for 28 years as a STNA and I absolutely love my job! I have the best co-workers who not only excel in there teamwork approach however they are the most loving and caring people! We absolutely love our residents and they are family to us! We have the benefit of being a smaller facility and that gives us the time to really strengthen our bonds with are patients and builds long lasting friendships. Had expectations that this place was a good place and would properly take care of my mom and that I wouldn't have to worry about her, but that hasn't been further from the truth so far. She broke her collarbone while being transferred to the rehab and she has been messaging and calling me telling me she is in so much pain and they haven't given her a sling. My mom suffered multiple strokes after battling stage 4 lung cancer for years, and my dad and I could not be more grateful that she ended up at the homestead II for rehab. From the moment we arrived here by ambulance they made us feel like family. They kept her comfortable, clean, and most importantly-safe. It gave my dad and I a lot of peace of mind when we could not be by her side 24/7.
