so regret for dealing with this company for 3 years and they are still lying and procrastinate now I have to move out of the rental house and I don't know where to go If you want to ruin your life, deal with them
I built about 7 years ago with homestart wa. Initially I was thrilled to have a home of my own finally as being alone and getting a mortgage on my own wasn’t easy but it happened and I got the mortgage on my own single signer, almost impossible for a blue collar worker. The house and workmanship on it are quite disappointing though, I do realise homestart are a training builder and as such they use mostly apprentice labour who are at the end of their apprenticeship and a year off getting their papers and qualifications. Please avoid buying with this company. The name implies that they're new home buyer friendly, however after signing up ,they own you and your decisions around the build. Make sure everything is explained and choose everything you want before signing, don't just believe the sales person that it is flexible and no additional charges. We're out of pocket thousands and have half finished items due to miscommunication or staff stating in emails they will do it, then don't. Took 4 years to build my house heaps of mistakes and defects had a 35 page report on first inspection then when I did move in all they give you as a congratulations is a little black box with soap a candle and some pegs for the close line stay as far away from them as possible if possible I’d give them -5 stars
