Fresh baked bread was amazing. We had bruschetta as app and the bread with that was very very old and impossible to take a bite of the bruschetta. The main course was a fish for my friend which was good but pricey and I had a Bolognese which did not really have a taste and it had too much sauce and the pasta was sticking together and also in my eyes way to expensive for what you get. I do not care about spending a lot of money on good food but at this place I do definitely not find it worth it.
Local, local, local! A gem right in York. Chef Mike makes his culinary dreams come alive, not just on your plate, but in your mouth! Beautiful to behold, better to taste, his dishes amaze. Eating here also supports a local family, thus warming your heart. Room for large events, or an intimate dinner for two, the restaurant has ambiance & historic character. With a menu that still has my mouth watering hours later, HomeGrown is our new favorite!
Ate here during York's restaurant week and it was delicious! Both soups that were offered were fantastic (bacon tomato is on the thicker side and the butternut squash was smooth and almost sweet with a hint of cinnamon). The risotto was creamy and filling. The lemon blueberry cake was the perfect finish to the meal. Staff is friendly, checks in regularly (especially great for the water refills), and can help you decide what to order if you're not sure! Also it's BYOB!
