I regret to say that Home Instead staff are not very good at following up, and their online care portal is not reliable or functional. I cannot leave TO DO requests and in order to get some feedback to the posts or communication that I can add, I am forced to call in to the office. In addition, when it comes to the care of my father, caretaker changes have been made without any notification ahead of time. Incredible service. I found myself in need of sitting/companionship services for my mom at a local Memory Care unit after an incident necessitated 1:1 care, and Home Instead was at the ready on a Saturday morning to help me secure care by Saturday evening. The staff went out of their way to help me on a holiday weekend and I could not be more grateful.
We’ve been working with Home Instead for nearly two years to take care of my 95 year old aunt. They’re always on top of her doctor’s appointments and daily cares. They communicate changes in her mental status, discomfort, or needs. They keep me informed on what the doctor says when I can’t make the appointment. My aunt is a dear but she’s set in her ways and I know she’s a bit of a handful sometimes. She has them there 15 hours a day.
