My mom had been in hospital for a bit of time and was quite deconditioned. She required some help initially when she left hospital and that is when I contacted Jake at Home Instead. The service was prompt and personal with an in-hospital visit and assessment prior to discharge. They were able to arrange a PSW promptly to help my mom transition from hospital to home while providing reassurance for me as I went to work and could leave her at home. I would highly recommend Home Instead. During the difficult time while my husband was dying, Jake, Tracy and Leah provided compassionate and timely support. The caregivers were all excellent, each, in their own way, providing care for me and my husband. Thank you all for your empathy and support.

I have been working with Home Instead for almost a year and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services. Concerned for my aging parent adamant to stay at home , my initial conversation with Jake was very comforting . Jake was attentive to my worries and took the time to answer any questions I had. Tracy completed the home visit in a fun but very professional manner to come up with an action plan to best support my mom at home. Tracy could not have assigned a better match to care for my mom. I have received services from Home Instead for nearly 3 years. The staff are courteous and helpful and always willing to find ways to provide what you need. In the beginning I had help from many competent, caring personal support workers. For the past 2 years Kathryn has been my caregiver. She anticipates what I might need. Kathryn helps with showers, dressing, exercises, laundry, changing my bed, organizing drawers. Kathryn is making delicious meals for us which certainly takes the pressure off my husband. Our family has been using the services of Home Instead Markham for the past 6 months, and we couldn't be happier. Our mother, who is 92, has her own apartment on an "Independent Living" floor in a seniors residence in Markham. Despite her gradually failing health, she preferred not to move to an "Assisted Living" floor, as she enjoyed her familiar surroundings.
