On Friday, March 13, 2026 my solar system was not working due to heavy rain and wind from the Kona storm the whole island chain was experiencing. So I called the company on the next day and spoke Jan Michael who was a team member for after hour customer service and he returned my call in about 20 minutes after I left a message. I have been very happy with Holu Hou since they installed my solar system over four years ago. They are great communicators, knowledgeable, respectful, and very responsive, arriving and addressing issues within an hour. They even brought a back up battery late at night so I could sleep with my CPAP when a replacement part wasn't immediately available.
Beware! Do not use this company! We had them install our solar. They left the tie-off anchors on the ridge of the roof, probably for the future when they have to inspect panels, and that's fine. But they left nails exposed, which caused leaks. Simple roof leak caulking over nails could have avoided this. We've reached out to the company left voicemails....they haven't returned or answered a call....DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY SHADY WORK IN ALL SECTORS!
This review has been almost a year in the making. If you are thinking of starting a large scale Solar/PV project. I would recommend Holu Hou Energy. I did my research and contacted Holu Hou Energy & Kumu Kit. One contacted me in 3 days and the other contacted me in 3 months.
