Great fish selection I have enjoyed Hollywood aquarium for many years and frequently browse the store. The owner is extremely knowledgable and personable about fish and aquariums. If they have a good one, they are sometimes willing to sell a used aquarium at a lesser cost which I appreciate as they can be spendy! Hollywood Aquarium I have to disagree with the last review that suggested that Hollywood Aquarium is not the place to go to ask questions. To the contrary, it is by far the best place. The owner has a Ph.D in icthiology(sp) - that's fish. He studied sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico and has had repeated contact with Jacque Cousteau himself. Aquarium stuff is based on science, and it can be duanting and tricky at times. Service??? I have been there twice, not going back. The owner as a marine biologist does have great knowledge. I have not been able to get any customer service over there, even when the store is nearly empty. He seems more interested in helping current clients or anyone over 30. After multiple attepmts to make a purchase I left the store, the owner was too busy chatting with a current client. I only needed 5minto bag the coral pay and leave. I felt like he could have cared less about my small request. Maybe if I were over 30... read more
Worth going to see the displays Hollywood Aquarium used to have excellent customer service, until around 2000. The saltwater and freshwater displays are worth going in and checking out. They have the most exotic looking fish that of course, are not for sale but the setup's are very nice to watch. The prices are a little on the high side and they have a bigger selection of saltwater than freshwater fish. I find it worth my time to drive a little further. Be careful not to confuse the ownerâs one-size-fits-all opinions with âknowledgeâ. I believe his interests are pretty much limited to maintaining client aquariumâs and heâs seems to be quite bored with the retail part of the business.

bad service!!! Spoke to the manager over the phone and got quoted $2xx for a 55 gallon tank stand, got there and the worker, was trying to get me for $350! WTF! Never coming back!!!!
