This is a favorite with locals of all types, from old school hippies to yuppies and everyone in between. The sleek, chrome-enhanced dining room serves up spicy Szechuan cuisine that is delicious and hot enough to cause diners to break out into a sweat. Delicate palates can request milder seasoning without sacrificing the taste, though. Kung Pao in both Shrimp and Chicken versions, is a big draw here as are the Plump pot stickers, said to be some of the best in the East Bay. The service is always friendly and quick, especiall... read more

I have been going to Holly's for many years. The food is amazing...authentic, well prepared, fresh and delicious! I will drive past many other Chinese restaurants to eat at Holly's! Best in the East Bay!
Too much oil in food, small portions and poor service
Sometimes the best places to go are small family owned businesses. Welcoming atmosphere with friendly, professional staff. The food service is on point and most importantly, delicious.
I love this spot for take out, but when I do dine in here with my friends, I appreciate the cleanliness. Unfortunately with many family owned restaurants, cleanliness can be a hit or miss. But this place exceeds my expectations every time. As far as service goes, they get an A+ from me. Fast and friendly, just the way I like it. Lastly, the food. My orders are always made correctly, and they nail it every time. I love it.

Great Chinese food – Very good food. Everything tastes fresh and I like that the orange chicken is never too sweet. I would also recommend the chicken fried rice. The rice is still moist and not dry like some places.
Delicious, Fresh Food and a Nice Atmosphere! – Holly's has a great dark/modern atmosphere that makes it feel a little upscale. The food does that too, but the prices are very reasonable ($7-13 per plate). They also have combo specials if you want a little of everything but are on a budget. You have a choice of steamed white or brown rice, and the food is always fresh and house-made. The dishes are not overly greasy, and the veggies are always fresh and still a little crisp. The service is also very good, even when they are p... read more
I've gone twice. The first time was with a large group (10) we had great food and service. The setting is beautifull and peacefful. It is more expensive than normal "take out" Chinese food but well worth it. The second time I was with two other people - one a very difficult vegetarian to please. My guest didn't like certain vegetables that came with the tofu dishes.. The waitress asked her what were her favorite vegetables and sauce - they then made a "custom" dish for her. We left with boxes of extra food that was still goo... read more
Very good chinese food and service My wife & I had the opportunity to eat here after paying a visit with my brother-in-law who was recovering in Kaiser hospital at the time. We drove down Piedmont knowing there was a lot of places to grab a bite to eat. We felt like eating Chinese food so we finally found parking and walked over to Holly's Mandarin. The restaurant was a good size and very clean compared to most Chinese restaurants in the area. We had their hot-n-sour soup, fried won tons (really good), and combination fried ... read more
