I have not experienced any rudeness from staff. Maybe they are under new management. Staff has been quite nice and accomodating. I too came in on Amtrak. Cab is about five dollars plus tip. Downtown is walkable. Hotel is clean and quiet and that's all I wanted.
Me and my wife could not stand the manners of the staff. Rude and impatient. Dirty room floors.. TV wasn't working properly. Might never visit another holiday inn.
