Very Disappointing Stay (Room 319) My wife and I stayed in Room 319 (2 queen beds) at the Holiday Inn Express in Shelbyville, Kentucky, during Derby week as IHG Platinum Elite members. What should have been a convenient base for our Kentucky Derby trip turned into one of the most frustrating hotel stays we’ve had. Stayed overnight on our way to NC. Traveling with a fully loaded truck and camper, we needed a safe and quiet area and this hotel location was perfect! The staff let us park by the entrance which was a peace of mind and greatly appreciated! The common areas looked updated and were very clean. The rooms are a bit tired but everything was spotless! The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast attendant Ana was so kind! The breakfast area was spotless and well stocked. Everything was prepared with love and care 😊

Everything I've come to expect in a Holiday inn in terms of room layout and furnishings, plus a super comfy bed, a quiet location, and hvac system that works and is quiet, and a good breakfast.

The hotel and staff were professional and welcoming. Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.
