The staff was rude and rooms were musty smelling. Air conditioning did not work well. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the alarm in the our room did not go off. When exiting the hotel during the fire alarm the stairwell was dirty and full of cigarette butts. The pool ladders were loose and hard to use to enter the pool. We were not able to use the parking lot due to a deteriorating parking structure. Had to park across the road so loading and unloading the car was a pain.
I sent an email a week before leaving a review with no response. Room never got bel I w 75 degrees, parking was a pain, ice machine didn't work, pop machine only takes cash, and woke up at 3am with ants crawling on me and in the bathroom.
Our room was damp and warm, we set the thermostat to 70° and it never got below 78. When I inquired with the front desk about a solution, they said that it was the whole motel that was having difficulties. That would’ve been nice to know before we checked in. Then at breakfast, the hostess was very rude and condescending implying that my party didn’t pay for our breakfast when it was in our reservations. Pros- *Friendly front desk *Friendly maintenance *Friendly staff all around Cons- *AC doesn’t keep up well, they ended up giving us box fans. *Windows very thin sounds like you’re standing beside the interstate *No breakfast on Mondays? The tickets we were given for breakfast list every day BUT Monday. *Ice machines only work on a couple floors *Pool was dirty there was a chair in the bottom of the deep end, then the chemicals were so off balance they shut it down *the no parking is NOT a temporary construction issue. Access to lobby door is restricted at this time due to work on parking lot. Not able to drive up. I chose HI due to its closeness to Mercy One Hospital. My husband had heart surgery scheduled for the next day. It was a long walk from the street to the lobby.
