Well it was a bit on the Pricey side, my biggest negatives were that the main entrance was barricaded off, it looked like they were going to redo it but found out it has been like this for close to a year, my husband is handicapped & thus we parked over a block away which made it very hard to get luggage etc. Into the Hotel. Old building with poor maintenance. Parking lot and motor lobby are out of service and zero work is being done to fix it. If you arrive late night be prepared to deal with a rude receptionist at front desk. Housekeeping for rooms only include cleaning the bathroom, nothing else. The hotel is next to an interstate highway, impossible to have a good rest with all the cars noises. Worst hotel of the entire chain. I do not recommend this place.

Dated, dingy, smelled like smoke. Parking on site was barricaded and closed, had to park across the street. Vending ice and soda was not working on our floor. Lobby vending only had Coke or Diet Coke. Would not recommend at this price point, will explore other options when in Des Moines again.

The parking lot "repair" made parking a challenge. There was a mix up with rooms and reservations, this was rectified. The rooms air conditioner struggled and did not ever really get cool. The breakfast buffet was sub par for IHG. The location was good but didnt off set the other issues.

A lot of road construction along with one way streets. The normal parking area is closed due to construction. Alternate parking across the street from the hotel, directly across from the closed parking area. (Next to the Mercy hospital employee parking)
