This place was great for my son and our family! He experienced success at Hoffman that he hadn’t had in several years. I felt the staff was trauma and FASD informed and how that affects brain and behaviors. My son enjoyed the equine therapy and the animal assisted therapy. He is the most stable he has been in years and has gained skills he can use to continue that success. It was a long process to get into Hoffman but in the end it was worth the wait.
My son was sent to HH for suicidal ideations. The entire organization was fully aware of my son's issues. He died by suicide at HH. HH had one job to do... keep my son alive, and they failed miserably. I can't in good conscience recommend this facility.
I put one star but if I could put zero I would, like this place is not treatment it made everything so much worse, so any parents looking at this I strongly recommend you do NOT send your child here unless you want them to get worse, possibly loose trust in you and/or gain so much more anxiety due to the strict rules, poorly timed routines and perfection required for everything unless they want to write in the kitchen all day, reflecting on their actions(generally just them forgetting to complete a small part of their chore ... read more
