Terra cotta on our old building had been crumbling for a while. Looked around Chicago for shops that actually do this, most were booked months out. These guys walked the whole facade with me, explained what they'd match and how. Looks like it always did.

first walkthrough they actually knew what they were looking at. terracotta on our building is original and most masonry companies in Evanston either dont touch it or want to replace it with something else. these guys repaired what could be saved and only replaced the pieces that were too far gone. process took longer than i wouldve liked but thats the nature of this work. final result is honest to the building. cant ask for more

They restored the terra cotta on our building's facade and the work is really something. The color matching alone was impressive - you can't tell where the old pieces end and the new ones begin. The stone masons clearly knew what they were doing with the material. Worth every dollar we spent on it.

the mortar between the bricks on our building was basically crumbling out in chunks. looked terrible and we were worried about water getting in. had Historic Renovation & Terracotta come out and do a full tuckpointing job on the whole front facade. they matched the mortar color really well which i was skeptical about beforehand. took them a few days and the brickwork looks solid again, no more gaps or loose pieces falling off. glad we didnt wait any longer to deal with it

The terra cotta on the front facade of our building had been deteriorating for years, like chunks were just falling off and crumbling at the edges. They came in and did a full terra cotta restoration on two floors worth of ornamental pieces, matching the original color and profile really closely. Some of those shapes were pretty unusual too, not standard stuff you'd see on newer Chicago buildings. The finished sections blend right in with the parts that were still intact which is sort of the whole point I guess. Building loo... read more
