Their apartments were not well kept. The simplest solutions to make them more secure and safer were met with challenge. they seemed very ok with having trespassers and others trash their lobbies. Also have a terrible rat problem and never did anything about it. It's the number one reason i moved out as fast as i could. They never wanted to help make their buildings healthier or safer. Historic Property Management is going through a bankruptcy and has sold off most if not all of their buildings. I can't speak for the new company yet as it has only been a month or so. I have had to evacuate my building as another apartment had bedbugs this summer. Historic Properties put minimal effort into maintaining the buildings for years and it shows.
I attempted to work with Greg Hall in finding an apartment in the fan district. While Greg was very nice, he seemed a bit preoccupied with what was happening with Historic Properties. According to Greg, Historic Properties is selling off their properties due to some internal issues. I will not speculate, except that they are selling off a bunch of their buildings.
