During a termite inspection I was told I had an infestation of wood boring beetles. I was shown pictures of holes in the wood and dust on the ground. I was also told from the inspector that he put a stethoscope up to the wood and he could hear "chewing". Later that day he called with a $3k quote to take care of the problem. Luckily I crawled though the crawlspace and found no holes. I had a supervisor come out to show me these "holes". He spent an hour under the house and said the inspector made a mistake!
