The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

I like the Hippodrome well enough. I do not like how the current management is treating long-term season ticket holders with this "customer friendly" reorganization of seats for subscriber weeks. There are other theaters in Baltimore, who care more about what their patrons think.
I have seen a couple of plays here and we were very pleased both times ! I love the fact that you can eat and drink in the theater most won't allow that great time had by all !!
