The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

Hippodrome Theatre is a treat, we don't get to go often, but when we do, we truly enjoy the shows
The ushers were rude, yelling across the seating area at me (very unprofessional), the seats were tight and I wasn't informed that I would be next a wall blocking half of my view. Not a fan of the performance.
Seating is a bit cramped. But the theater is charming. Saw a great production of The Phantom of the Opera on Saturday. Theater parking is across the street from theater for very reasonable rates.
I canNOT thank you enough for the wonderful staff you employ!! Had a problem with our seating and loud people, they changed our seats no problem so we could enjoy Phantom which by the way was AMAZING!!!!! Your theatre is absolutely exquisite and I can't wait to attend another performance with y'all!!
As long as I keep my exact seats I'll stay a subscriber
I bought last minute tickets to The Book of Mormon so it's slightly my fault I had meh tickets. The worst part of this place is balcony seating as you can see from many people. If you're over probably 5'6" just do yourself a favor and don't unless it's something you really want to see. The staff was great and so was the atmosphere. I would go back, but I'd be more strategic about my seat location and probably not do it last minute.
We have seen several plays and musicals here at the Hippodrome. Every seat we have been in is a perfect view of the stage. The employees are so very helpful from finding your seat to any needs you might have. I have recommended going to the Hippodrome to family and friends because of friendly staff and variety of plays and musicals they have on the venue. I can't wait to go again.
