The Hippodrome Theatre is the centerpiece of theFrance-Merrick Performing Arts Center, holding all of the center's shows. Located just three blocks away from the University of Maryland, this performing arts theater is a true gem of the city. This Vaudeville theater was built in 1914 and designed by Thomas White Lamb, one of the most prominent theater architects of his time. Over the years the theater went through various transformations, from a movie theater to a performing arts venue that it is today.

Beautiful historic theatre in Baltimore. Great Broadway shows and other entertainment offerings in a state of the art stage.
Great infrastructure, but confrontational & rude employees that fail to make you feel welcome. Furthermore, I feel that this entity could do a lot more to serve the communities of Baltimore City.
The theatre is always beautiful and amazing. The ushers and everyone are professional and friendly. But the ladies room on the first floor smelled like a barnyard before the show ever started. The drinks cost too much but we expect that. But the real kicker was that this was SO not the original Jersey Boys from 2-3 years ago. This seemed to be a remake of the film rather than the show. The first half was so awful it was embarrassing. The 2nd act they pulled it together and sang.....finally. Very disappointing.
The Hippodrome is a breathtaking beautiful theatre. It's a Jewel in the city of Baltimore!
My first time at the Hippodrome to see Jersey Boys, bigger than expected, nice. Sat at the upper balcony and view was good. Drinks and Parking is expensive $12.00 each. I plan to go back.
Great show ,will see it again,It made you sing along and enjoy the show...BUT DID WE REALLY NEED THE OFF COLOR WORDS
