I have not stayed there yet but have reservations in a couple weeks. I’m coming with a group and I just looked at pictures….are all the units only accessible by flights of open backed steps? I’ve heard our room is on the 2nd floor and there’s a 20step staircase to the door. Now, looking at the open backed stairs I’m not sure if I will be able to navigate it. Please help!!
Overall this place was a disappointment. 2 days into our 7 day stay the indoor pool went down. For us the indoor pool/hottub/lazy river was it's only redeeming quality. The room was okay. 2nd floor room. Stairs were a little scary for us older visitors. No non-skid and it rained. Tried to get moved to a 1st floor room but were told none were available. We were able to find rooms available on travel sites but we were not able to be accommodated. Really needed to look closer at the website to ask for a 1st floor room for those... read more
Outer Banks Anniversary Week. April 2026 We selected the Beachwoods Resort to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. A quiet, shady location secluded from the hum of the road. The unit we had was great. All units have stairs. We requested a lower unit with just 7 stairs. It did make it easier for us. Our unit was a one bedroom, with two full baths. Although location is not beachfront the property has a dedicated parking lot at the beach. Great amenities- indoor and outdoor pools, spa, splash zone, hiking, basketball, tennis couts etc., planned activities, lake, paddle boats etc. Fully functional kitchens in units with screened porches and open decks. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
We’ve loved our stay at Beachwoods. It’s only a minute from Walmart on one side & a couple minutes from the Beach on the other side. Surrounded by lots of shopping places & restaurants. Friendly service, clean rooms & area. Our kids loved the indoor pool too. Beachwoods also has their own guest parking when you go to the beach. We went in the off season so the area wasn’t crowded.
