Friendly staff and great location.
Unfortunately my family had to travel to Savannah for a family funeral. We thought we would find some comfort in a nice hotel. The only positives about this hotel are its excellent location, which is within easy walking distance to everything, and the nice pool and bar area. Unfortunately, those small positives were completely overshadowed by how poorly managed and frustrating the rest of our stay was. We had a wonderful overnight stay at The DeSoto and couldn't be happier with our choice. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect for exploring Savannah - situated right in the heart of the city center, you're within easy walking distance of the historic district, great restaurants, and all the main attractions. Poor experience from the moment we pulled up (valets on their phones, one front desk attendant with line of people, rooms were OK but did not feel clean. Lobby is a nice space, but not well attended too, pool deck could be nice but again, not attended to, Furniture all out of place and trash on tables, etc) to the moment we left.
