I stayed at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump for a weekend trip to Kings Dominion, and it turned out to be a great choice. The hotel is about a 30-minute drive from the park, and while some of the roads are a bit narrow and winding, the drive is actually beautiful. We passed scenic farmland, gorgeous homes, and peaceful countryside, making the trip to and from the park surprisingly relaxing. Nice hotel. They had an unfortunate issue where their system was down when we arrived. Didn’t mind that, not that picky. The managers reaction though I found unacceptable. He explained the situation and told us that we could go to the bar, get a drink and relax until they got everything up and running. He was asked “so should we just tell them to charge the drink on the hotel?” To which he replied “your credit card would work just fine”.
