My wife and I booked this hotel for its location and the fact it had a pool and hot tub. When we arrived, they told us they were cleaning the pool but the hot tub was open. When we went to use it later on, an alarm was going off and they said the hot tub was now closed. They told us it would reopen the next day. When we went to get access the next morning, they were still cleaning. It may have eventually opened around 10 am, but this was deeply disappointing. Booked a last minute night here and spent a little extra $$ to enjoy the pool and hot tub during our trip through New England…but did not get to use either. Usually wouldn’t be so frustrated since it was out of the hotel’s control, but the customer service was not good and I got shouted at by a technician working the pool area after the front desk told me we could use the hot tub even though the pool was unavailable. The valet, front desk, and housekeeping staff were all genuinely kindhearted and helpful people. The location is wonderful and makes the entire area very walkable. The View from room 402 is lovely, peeking over the historic houses on the hill towards the bridge and sunset in the distance. The room was spacious and the shower is excellent for someone who loves good, hot showers with nice pressure.
