I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Matthews in Louisville, KY and unfortunately this experience missed the mark in just about every category. The biggest disappointment was the pool. It looked completely neglected — the water was cloudy with a yellow tint and honestly didn’t appear safe or inviting to swim in. No free breakfast. One of the elevators was broken so there was only one for a hotel full of guests. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Only 40 tv stations with no option of using our own Netflix or other streaming. Absolutely not worth the money.
The hotel itself and staff seemed nice & friendly but the elevators situation is absolutely awful and I would not stay here again due it. There was only one working elevator and the buttons didn’t work, especially the 1st floor button. When we got in the elevator there was an elderly gentleman with his suitcase that had been in the elevator for a while but could get the “1st” floor button to work he had been bouncing between the 2-4 floor because no one could get the main floor button to work so they all kept getting off and... read more
Ants everywhere moved room, more ants. Coffee maker didn't work, had to request room service since they didn't complete, elevator didn't work on one side. Usually stay at Hilton hotels and this was a sad experience. Great location was the only positive.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Poor management. Owners should look into manager Mindy and her poor quality of a job Update: no one at this hotel will take responsibility for their actions of cancelling and promising a fully covered stay at another hotel. The manager is sick one day and late the next. Says she comes in at 9 shows up at 9:15 then 10. Pushes off on assistant general manager who just doesn't even call.
