Takes 5 min to get lukewarm water at the sink. No breakfast with the room. Noise very noticeable through the ceiling. Service desk indifferent to customer comfort.
The hotel was generally clean and well located. We stayed two nights and the room was not serviced - is this the default for a two night stay? If so, I was not aware. I have a family of 4, and knew I needed service, but there was no option on the app to request service or any signage on the room to indicate that service needed to be requested, so I assumed it would be automatic. Honestly this has been the absolute best stay I’ve had at a Hilton Garden Inn!!! Besides my room being perfect, THE STAFF is where everything went above and beyond! My very first day I had the worst experience with Uber Eats and immediately Kayla jumped in to ensure I had a great meal to eat! Luke made sure I had the best cocktail to wash the meal down! Great location if you are going to a VT Football game or attending events on/near campus. Friendly staff. Clean and welcoming lobby with nice outdoor seating area. Good breakfast options and dinner option if you don't want to wait for a spot downtown. Pool is nice to have for kids. Rooms were clean but dated. We will consider staying here again for our next visit to Blacksburg.
The room was absolutely disgusting, but they were sold out due to a VATech football game. We were in the area to hike with the dogs and didn't have anywhere else to go. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and there were multiple stains on the carpet. It was dark, outdated and smelled awful. The lobby was one bright spot and was clean and updated. The bartender was also the cook as the kitchen staff had the night off. He was able to prepare 4 things on the menu and we ordered one of each. He did a great job!
