Hilltop Tavern Ltd. was established in Iowa City at the end of Prohibition in 1933, and we're proud to still serve up cold drinks and good times to North-siders in the original location. We are a well-loved neighborhood bar, home to a local pool league. We also host euchre tournaments and other games. My first visit to the Hilltop Tavern after living here since 1981!! I had to try the Reuben.....and it was DELICIOUS!!! It was my first visit.....but certainly will not be my last!!!!
The beer was great and rueben delicious. I now live where there are no taverns.. and it was great to be in one, it reminded me of so many Australian pubs.
