Gus Gets a Vacation Fantastic place for dogs to vacation. I've taken two dogs to Hilltop Kennels. Combined for over 22 years of boarding. Couldn't ask for a more caring or friendly place. My dog has lots of allergies and they're very careful to avoid anything that will trigger a reaction and dilligent about giving him his medications. He loves to visit his friends at Hilltop.
home away from home I can't say enough wonderful things about Hilltop Kennels!! I have been taking Sophie there since she was 3mo old and it is her home away from home--she gets excited when we turn left off the interstate on Wilson Ave and that escalates until we actually park in front of their front door. My friends left their dog for 7 nights at Hilltop Kennels. They received a call at about 6:30 a.m. on the day they were to pick up their dog from Hilltop Kennels. The call was to let my friends know their dog needed immediate vet care. So my friends met the Hilltop staff at the Vet's office. They were shocked to find their dog almost non-responsive. She had 3 cut marks down her backside and the cuts were full of maggots. She also had maggots crawling out of her butt and mouth. She had to be put down immediately. The v... read more
RecommendedMy husband and I had business to tend in Cedar Rapids and we had our AmStaff/Mix, Xander with us. We boarded Xander at Hilltop Kennels and we’re so happy with the amazing staff and facility! They came very highly recommended by fellow truckers. Whenever we’re in Cedar Rapids Xander will be staying here!
To say she had a good day at daycare is an under statement. We love it there. The staff is amazing. They truly love every dog that comes in those doors. Thanks for caring for my baby.

We can’t recommend Hilltop enough! Our cockapoo Dexter has been going there for about 3 years now for daycare and every time we pull up he literally jumps out of the car with excitement. He is always greeted with a friendly familiar face. We can tell our boy is very well taken care of.
We've used Hilltop for boarding, daycare and grooming for several years. Us and our dogs just love them and all of their services!
I have been taking my fur babies to Hilltop Kennels for over 20 yrs, on average they are there 2-3 days a wk. They love it there and are treated like family. They know all their guests and work with their needs. One of my dogs (Buddy) had gone blind, and when I would board him, Beth would pad the sides of the run with foam floor tiles (if you have seen the huge size of the runs, you know how many 16" tiles that is !) to help keep him safe. Mazi loves Hilltop Kennel Daycare! She bounces around the backseat when we turn on Wilson and she doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. I know she is well taken care of and has a lot of fun just by looking at the pictures they post each day. I love the fact that I can have her groomed while at daycare! So nice to use their kennel services as she knows the staff and I don't have to worry about her.
