I had a very disappointing experience at Hilltop Family Resource Center in Grand Junction. From the moment I walked in, the staff was cold and unfriendly, creating an environment that felt tense rather than supportive. Early on, staff incorrectly accused me of stating that I would pay the other parent’s fees. This lady at the front desk asked us to put down everything we know and after we did she laughed in our face and said “seriously?” She was acting really rude and made us feel like we were stupid for doing exactly what she said. Her name was Paula or something like that.

As a pregnant person my husband and I tried applying for Medicaid on our own and got denied so we went to Hilltop to make sure we did it correctly. Debra and Anna took their time to help us navigate the system and make sure we had our income reported correctly and even made sure that the state was accounting our income correctly.
