Pretty good I use Hillside primarily for maintenance of my 2002 VW Golf TDi GLS. I have my oil changed at less expensive lube shops and use my own favorite oil. I perceive Hillside to be reasonable and skilled. I would love it if they did tire rotations/balancings and wish their oil changes weren't as costly as they are. I appreciate the wine when spending over $1000!

they did $3,500 worth of work on my boyfriend's car, and it broke down seven times and still is on the side of the road when we picked it up at noon trying to get back home which is 6.8 MI. seriously would never recommend these people to anyone how in the freak are you going to tell me you can charge me $3,500 for a car that couldn't even make it 3 miles without breaking down. Girlfriend took in her Audi for an oil pan leak and also asked them to change the wiper blades. After getting the car back, the windshield was scratched. At first, we thought it was dirt, but after washing it a couple times realized the only way this could have occured was when the wipers were replaced. I called and explained the situation, and the person from Hillside immediately got defensive and belligerent and said there is no way they caused the issue. Wouldn't even look at my car, it's a 2002 VW and wont stay running... and refused to even look. My father and I have both always gone to Hillside for VW work, but its time to move on.
I live in NE Portland now, and will still only take my Passat here for service, even if it is way across town. Rene stayed way past closing time to help with a check engine light, and didn't charge me for the extra time. I tell all of my friends and coworkers to go to Hillside Imports. It's not often that you find a technician as honest and caring as Rene. Thanks for taking car of my car like your own!
