great place to take lessons This place is perfect for taking beginner's flying lessons--the airport is in Hillsboro and its small but has qualified pilots/flying instructors that will actually take you up in the air on your first lesson!
Do your research 7 accidents since 2008. One accident having 2 fatalities. Do your research before you attend this school.
The best place to become a pilot This is a well known and internationally respected flying school (at the core, it has other businesses as well, such as maintenance, charter, etc.) which has set industry standards. People from as far away as China and Norway, among many other nationalities, take part in their pilot programs both for fixed wing and helicopters. I highly recommend them, they are as professional and safe as you can get in this field. Great way to see Portland, the mountains, or the coast as well.
Flying Lessons My family gave me some flying lessons from Hillsboro Aviation. What a blast. I highly recommend get some flying time for a gift if you need something special.
