Great building. Very quiet. Peaceful. Nice views. Comfortable seating. Welcoming and safe.
This was my first time inside since the remodeling of the Hillman library at University of Pgh. It way more modern, very spacious and somewhat inviting! It doesn't even feel like your in an library. .. Well, one out of three interactions with the staff and security was positive. Sad 😔 , right? But the staffer that helped me was very energetic, polite, respectful and helpful! !! The men's bathroom didn't have soap coming out of the dispenser and she/ they called it in. I love the new Hilman library. Plenty of space and clean. If you're a faculty member or student, you can reserve a study room. Printers are free for faculty members. You don't have to work for the university or be a student to enter it. So I go there with my teen daughter sometimes. The negative side is that parking near there is expensive.
