My child’s tooth was pulled without consent — not theirs and not mine — and the explanations the doctor later gave were never mentioned at the time. During our visit, Dr. Hildebrand asked my 12-year-old if he could remove her loose baby tooth. She said no. He did not ask me, the parent standing beside her. Despite this, he proceeded anyway. My child’s tooth was extracted without their consent and without mine, even though I was standing beside them the entire time. Dr. Jed Hildebrand asked my child if he could pull a tooth. My child did not give consent. He never asked me — the parent — and he proceeded with the extraction anyway.
