Horrible experience. My wife suffered a serious lumbar fracture with a piece pushed into her spinal cord. Hospitalized for 2 days at a local trauma center and needed so see a trauma surgeon and a neurosurgeon. A month later their retrospective reviewer denied her care as "medically unnecessary!" (All that for a 2250 monthly premium. ) The hospital told us they have to deal with their denials all the time. We read where they routinely deny 20% of claims.
