Horrible experience. My wife suffered a serious lumbar fracture with a piece pushed into her spinal cord. Hospitalized for 2 days at a local trauma center and needed so see a trauma surgeon and a neurosurgeon. A month later their retrospective reviewer denied her care as "medically unnecessary!" (All that for a 2250 monthly premium. ) The hospital told us they have to deal with their denials all the time. We read where they routinely deny 20% of claims. worst company ever, never do business with them!
I would like to share my most recent experience with Highmark. I have been taking Zepbound for the past 3.5 years, along with diet and exercise to lose 85 lbs. When the letters went out in Nov of 2025 stating the qualifications to remain on the medication it stated, BMI before medication had to be >40, you must have maintained 7.5% weight loss, you must have 2 qualifying diagnosis.
