Family run business The thing I like best about Highland is that it is family run. When it is a family business like that, you get great customer service. They make it very clear what days the pick up will vary due to holidays and we have never had a missed pick up. They are great about taking other larger items that you really don't want to haul off yourself (for a fee of course).
They take ANYTHING! I've been using Highland Sanitation for 3 years now, ever since I moved to St Paul. Man, they will take SO much stuff! My friend used to work in the sanitation business in New Jersey, and he was amazed that they have taken every single thing I have put out for them! It's much, much easier than going to the dump.
Higland Sanitation - A Good Deal We have been using Highland Sanitation for over four years (since we moved to the Twin Cities). We have always had great service. I recently checked prices for five other haulers and their price for pick ups is still a very good deal. They are also a locally owned business.
Highland Sanitation & Recyclng is a Bad Company!! Bad company!! They do not follow through with there promises. They are overcharging myself and neighbors. Dirty trucks and unfriendly staff. Please use someone else. No stars!1
REALLY BAD SERVICE and always raising their fees!!! We have had a terrible service from Highland for years now! We just changed to another company and are very glad. I would NEVER recommend Highland Sanitation. They constantly miss pick-ups then will not come back to pick up and make it right. They always mess up our bills and over charge us. They have a lot of hidden fees and will raise your fees as soon as they can...and not tell you! And on top of it all the customer service people when you call their office are VERY RUDE... read more
Not a good choice We have used Highland for several years. They are not a very good choice for commercial use. Lately they have been missing alot of pick up dates. Also some drivers are quite rude. We are currently looking for a new service provider.

Very Satisfactory pickup, but initially misled about how waste is treated I've used Highland for a month and service has been good for the month but I just discovered that in St. Paul, they don't treat the yard waste separately, they just throw it in with the trash and burn it (it's treated separately in Eagan). I wanted a service that treated yard waste separately and feel misled in how they sold me the service. On top of wishing yard waste was composted, why am I paying for a separate container?
