They have no CNA on staff. They have less staff on duty than they said. Was suppose to be 2 people at all times in Memory care. That was not what we experience. The nurse did not do an adequate assessment and approved my Mom for admission when they did not have the staff or expertise to handle it. I felt the nurse had an obligation to explain moving a patient with dementia can make them deteriorate. The placed smelled throughout the memory care. Definitely needs to have carpet replaced. Pros: The residents were very kind and the aides were kind. Cons: Memory care wing had a very strong urine odor. Dried food was stuck on the hand rails and needed to be cleaned. Our loved one was in the facility for two short weeks and fell out of bed three times. I highly recommend putting security camera in your loved ones room to help the facility evaluate how to eliminate as many falls as possible. I really enjoyed working for Highland. The staff and management was amazing. The residents are awesome. It’s a safe and caring environment for all parties involved. They care about your families wellbeing. Would take my loved one here.
