If you want to know who wins the "Gumbo Festival" and doesn't have to enter well this is the place. Hands down true Florida gumbo at its finest!!! The Hightide is 1st on my list of locals spot, hole in the wall whatever you want to call it. The food is stellar. We always sit at the oyster bar because we love Graham. First time here! Food and service (Brandy) was great! Food reminded me of back where I am from (MD) so I will be returning!
We have been eating at the High Tide for over 25 years and have NEVER had a bad meal there !!! Everything we have ever ordered was excellent starting with the gumbo through the entrees !! We will be there Wednesday night for our first meal in Destin !! Only problem we ever had was when my 4 year old had trouble with which bathroom door to go in !!
The best place around. Been going here since I was a young child. Me and my brother would sit at the bar and eat raw oysters at the ages of around 3 and 5 while shorty would shuck them. Always make it a point to come if I am within 30-45 minutes of it. Best oysters and chowder around and who could forget the chargrilled grouper sandwich.
