RecommendedStayed at The Donegal Cabin in Boone, NC. Beautiful cabin. GORGEOUS VIEWS. Provided very thorough instructions & directions. Clean & beautifully decorated. Lovely open concept. Super comfy couch & master bed. Cozy fireplace that can actually heat up the whole cabin! The HOT TUB was amazing at night and sparkling clean with plenty of towels provided. Our first night there, my brother-in-law reached into the walk in shower to adjust the water temperature. The handle came off in his hand causing him to fall. He sustained painfully bruised ribs and a laceration on his head requiring 9 staples. We were at the emergency room for four hours after a ten hour trip to the cabin. The maintenance man came the next morning and repaired the handle but our vacation was ruined. My brother-in-law was in too much pain to enjoy the week and we couldn’t leave him alone. The staff of High Mountain Cabin Rentals are exceptional! They are the most friendly and easy to work with. They are readily available and promptly responsive. We stayed in the Mountain Heir cabin and it was beautiful! We will rent again!

Nasty kitchen stove. Unusable outdoor fire pit. Huge dead RATS (not mice) in the master bedroom closet. Rat dropping under all bathroom cabinets. Very disappointed.
