Mike did an amazing job fixing the headset mic for our pastor. The 3.5mm connector pin had fallen off, and we could not get it to remain attached even if we could slot it back into place. Mike quickly diagnosed that an O-ring had fallen off (never to be found) and that was why the pin was not staying attached. Because it was so loose, the connection from the 3.5mm pin to the rest of the microphone wire caused horrible popping and feedback. I was searching for a technician to troubleshoot and repair some headset microphones for my church a few weeks ago. Although he said those kinds of microphones were not his typical job, Mike agreed to take a look and do what he could. Mike did a fantastic job repairing my 35 year old Creek integrated amplifier. He eliminated a buzz in the right channel and the high frequency distortion that had slowly developed in both the channels. The high end now sounds clear and the music has much more depth. The cost was very reasonable and there was only a day turn around.
Mike, the owner, is nice, fair and knowledgeable. His shop is attached to his house, but don’t be deceived. He has over 50 years repairing audio equipment in the Washington DC area. He knows his stuff. Mike repaired my two SET tube amplifiers that were over 20 years old. He did an excellent job. He is detail oriented and thorough. Highly recommended. Mike was excellent to work with, highly recommend him! He expertly diagnosed the scratchiness I was experiencing on my Musical Fidelity integrated amp and quickly resolved it at a reasonable price. Will be going to Mike for any other hi-fi issues I experience in the future!
