I would definitely not recommend Higgins Home Inspection. If there was an option for 0 stars, I would have chosen that! Mr. Higgins did an inspection of a property that I purchased in Nov of 2022. Now, just 4 months later, I have a water leak in my basement from a crack in the foundation that was never even mentioned in his home inspection. This is an unfinished basement so the crack & supposed previous repair was not hidden. I drug this man all the way to Forreston to look at my property and he was not only there an hour ahead of me, but was extremely knowledgable and helpful during the entire process. I cannot recommend his services enough! Friendly, extremely thorough, and able to answer any question I threw at him!

Four years later, we are still correcting things not identified by our home inspector: broken floor joist, island not properly supported, roof leak, soffits not properly venting, deficient attic insulation, dry rot in the garage, etc…the home was “newly remodeled” and this home inspector was as dazzled as we were. We just didn’t have “20 years of industry knowledge.” His report was quickly provided, though.

Certain aspects of my house were not up to code. When I had called the inspector to politely ask if there was anything that could be done as this should have been initially listed in my home owners inspection, the inspector was extremely rude and told me NO to call my electrician as he’s not doing anything to help me and that he doesn’t check to ensure a house is up to code that he only checks to see if it’s safe to live in.
